Desktop/IT Support Specialist
Large Sacramento Medical Specialty Group is looking for a great problem-solving, customer-oriented Desktop/IT Support Specialty; this is a full time position that requires the ability to work flexible hours (including after hours and week ends when necessary) and the ability to travel to various sites independently.
POSITION SUMMARY
Provide technical assistance to providers and staff, build or configure new hardware, help install, upgrade and troubleshoot hardware and software systems including boot troubleshooting, virus removals, and disk cloning, ultimately ensuring prompt and accurate customer service and increase client satisfaction. This is the perfect entry-level opportunity for an energetic, inquisitive, eager learner who has a can-do attitude and is looking to expand his/her IT skills.
ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS
- Address user tickets regarding hardware, software and networking
- Walk customers through installing applications and computer peripherals
- Ask targeted questions to diagnose problems
- Guide users with simple, step-by-step instructions
- Conduct remote troubleshooting
- Test alternative pathways until issue is resolved
- Customize desktop applications to meet user needs
- Record technical issues and solutions in logs
- Direct unresolved issues to the next level of support personnel
- Follow up with clients to ensure their systems are functional
- Report customer feedback and potential product requests
- Help create technical documentation and manuals
- Any other responsibility as assigned
- Hours: 40 hours a week and shifts can vary between 6am-3pm, 7am-4pm and 8am-5pm. Flexible if need to work weekends and after hours.
- Rate: $15.00 to $20.00 per hour depending on experience
- Overtime: On an as needed basis
REQUIREMENTS
- Ability to travel to the Sacramento & Central Valley, CA
- A reliable vehicle and current driver's license is required.
- Ability to work flexible hours (6:00 AM to 5:00 PM) including week ends and after hours when necessary
KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS AND EXPERIENCE
Knowledge
- Knowledge of Windows 7/10 Operating Systems
- Knowledge of Active Directory (preferred)
- Familiar with remote troubleshooting techniques.
- Working knowledge of office automation products and computer peripherals, like printers and scanners
- Knowledge of network security practices and anti-virus programs
Skills
- Ability to perform remote troubleshooting and provide clear instructions
- Excellent problem-solving and multitasking skills
- Customer-oriented attitude
Minimum Education (or substitute experience) required:
- High school diploma or equivalent.
Minimum Experience required
- Computer networks: 1 year (Required)
- Technical Support: 1 year (Required)
- Hands-on experience with Windows/Linux/Mac OS environments
- Proven work experience as a Desktop/IT Support Technician or similar role
